![]() Lady Beetle Larvae look very different from the adults. They usually are elongated, somewhat flattened, and covered with spines. Many are dark or black with bright colored spots or bands, while others are cream colored or covered with a white secrection making them resemble mealybugs. 200-500 aphids may be consumed during the larval stage. |
![]() Parasitic Wasps are very small and usually not noticed. They lay their eggs on or in the body of the host insect. The immature stage hatches and feeds on the host and eventually kills it. Many harmful insects such as aphids, whiteflies, scales, leafminers and caterpillars are parasitized. Some wasp larvae construct numerous small, white cocoons outside the body of the host. This is common on caterpillars. |
